The IRS computers send out 100 million tax notices to individuals each year.
Rather than fight these bills by hiring a professional CPA, 70% of the taxpayers are
so frightened they send the money without any challenge. The IRS does not work
for their constituents but rather runs dictatorship based pm fear and abuse of their
power.
During the last ten years Mr. Sorensen’s clients have received electronic tax bills
demanding payment of more than $2 million. Mr. Sorensen in turn filed appeals
and reduced the $2 mil demand to $500. Stated another way, the IRS sent bogus
tax bills totaling $1,999,500. How much does the IRS wrongfully collect each
year?
One victim of the IRS was a disabled Vietnam war hero who the IRS sent a notice
demanding $10,000. My client received a tax bill due because of an antiquated
computer system. You see the IRS incorrectly entered his social security retirement
as $251,030 when the correct amount was $21,030. How could IRS not catch that
they made a $230,000 error especially when the maximum possible social security
is less than $50,000/yr. I ran into my client, and they confided that they hadn’t
slept for three months. There is not any justification for terrorizing an 82-year-old
vet. As a former sniper, thank God, he didn’t harm himself.
An 84-old-grandmother had her identity stolen and the IRS never notified her of
this life-changing event. She only found out about the tax fraud when she received
a notice from Social Security indicating they would be increasing her Medicare
Part B premium to $450. That represented an annual increase of $3,600 as a direct
result of the IRS negligence. The IRS received the fraudulent tax return on April
15 th and then her actual return on July 15 th . The IRS allowed the fraudster to claim
that Margie was “single” on her fake tax return and report a bogus retirement
withdrawal of $150,000 and medical expenses of $70,000. If the IRS had looked
back at Margie’s history, they would have found she had filed married filing joint
for 64 straight years. The IRS is the largest legal fraud operating in the U.S.
Two other elderly taxpayers were expecting $5,000 tax refunds but never received
their checks. When I called the IRS to obtain an explanation, they informed me that
my clients needed to “request” the IRS release their own money. If you loaned a
friend $5,000, does it make sense that you would need to request they repay you?
General McAuliffe famously replied “nuts” when asked to surrender at the Battle
of the Bulge. That perfectly describes the IRS.
